Universal Electric H Frame Motors – Shaded Pole
5.5/8″ (143mm) diameter, 10W to 745W output, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 & 18 pole
H Frame motors have die cast aluminium end-shields with a rolled steel shell, usually painted grey. The motors use self aligning sintered iron sleeve bearings or ball bearings. Body construction is open ventilated, drip proof or totally enclosed. Motors can be single or double shaft types, often mounted in a resilient base or cradle. Some models have internal bearings and are end-shield mounted using the motor thru’ bolts; or fitted with special radial lugs or brackets. Motors can be single speed or multi-speed with tapped windings. Thermal overload protection fitted. Nearly always sleeve bearing for fan duty. Terminal boxes, conduit adaptors, body mounted oval can capacitors are often fitted. Reversible rotation available with many permutations of power output, speed, tappings, body length, shaft centre height, rotation, body enclosure, etc to consider.
Equivalents: Similar designs of electric motors were manufactured by Baldor, Century, Dayton, Fasco, Franklin, General Electric, Grainger, Marathon, Westinghouse,
Applications: Air conditioning, centrifugal blowers, door curtains, fan coil units, fan convectors, unit heaters,
