The Service

Pole Star offers a comprehensive service for the Building Services Engineer, Maintenance Firms, Facilities Companies, Heating Contractors, Electrical Engineers etc. We manufacture new fan decks and blowers to any design, in any quantity with quick deliveries. These are often alternatives to current competitor brands, or direct equivalents to old and obsolete models which are either no longer available, or expensive when purchased from other suppliers.

We offer both a standard turnaround which is generally 5-7 working days and we also offer an express service which is 1-2 working day turnaround. For larger volumes part shipments can be made or a whole shipment a few days later.

Fan Deck Styles

Our new fan decks, come in a variety of forms in either single, double, treble or quad blower units. Below are a list of the most common fan deck types:

  • Type A

A single scroll blower driven by an external rotor motor, 2 and 4 pole with 1 to 4 speeds available. This is the most compact of designs.

  • Type_A
  • Type B

A single blower is driven by single shaft PSC motor, 2, 4 or 6 poles, 1 to 6 speeds via a resilient base mounted motor for reduced noise and vibration levels. Air volumes up to a maximum of 1000 m3/hr or 600cfm.

  • Type_B
  • Type C

A double blower is driven by double shaft PSC motor, 2, 4 or 6 poles, 1 to 6 speeds, using resilient mounting base, motor power from 30W to 420W, impellers 108mm to 238mm diameter. Air volumes up to a maximum of 3000 m3/hr or 1800cfm.

  • Type_C
  • Type D

Triple blower is driven by double shaft PSC motor, 2, 4 or 6 poles, 1 to 6 speeds, using resilient mounting base, coupling to third impeller. Air volumes up to a maximum of 7000 m3/hr or 4200cfm.

  • Type_D
  • Type E

A triple blower which is driven by two PSC motors, 2, 4 or 6 poles, 1 to 6 speeds, using resilient mounting base. Air volumes up to a maximum of 7000 m3/hr or 4200cfm.

  • Type_E
  • Type F

Quadruple blower is driven by two double shaft PSC motors, 2, 4 or 6 poles, 1 to 6 speeds, using resilient mounting base, motor power from 30W to 420W, impellers 108mm to 238mm diameter. Air volumes up to a maximum of 8000 m3/hr or 4800cfm.

Tray Profiles

Along with the different styles of fan decks that are available there are also numerous different tray profiles which are commonplace which we can produce.

Motor Choice

One of the burning issues are the moment are ERP regulations and the drive to be energy efficient, that is why we stock a comprehensive range of EC (energy saving) fan coil motors, so when manufacturing new decks you can choose between a standard PSC motor or an energy saving motor.

The main differences are that a PSC motor runs at approximately 40% efficiency whilst an EC or BDLC motor runs at 70%, they are more expensive initially but over a period of years they are more cost effective. PSC motors are tried and tested and some well maintained units can run for up to 30 years, but a disadvantage of a PSC motor are that they generally run quite hot whilst an EC motor run very cool, however the technology is constantly evolving and EC motors are still in their infancy.

Facilities

With the onsite facilities we have our speciality is being able to manufacture new decks of any quantity to your specification. With the guillotine, lathe, milling machines, presses and bending equipment we are quickly and efficiently able to produce trays to most profiles to suit your needs, below are some examples of the most common tray profiles:
