Our latest range of high efficiency EC (Electronically commutated) motors are a much improved version of the conventional shaded pole motor which is used primarily for refrigeration applications. These EC motors (also known as ECM, W1G, EBA) replace the 5w, 7w, 10w, 16w, 18w, 25w & 34w motors most refrigeration engineers carry as van stock.
Electronically commutated (energy saving) motors work by using a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor with integrated drivers. This means that there are plenty of advantages to be gained such as longer life, up to IP67 protection, lower heat generation, lower energy consumption. The initial higher cost is offset generally within the first 6-9 months of use by the lower electricity used. Some models are available with EX (ATEX/explosion proof/spark free) protection.
These motors come individually boxed for van stock and can mount to a ring or grid via the four corner bolts on the drive end. Some models have side fixings or rear tapped holes to give a more “multifit” feel.
With our market leading range of motors all available from stock in conjunction with our cross reference database we are able to quickly and easily offer a replacement electric motor for many competitor makes, so should you have a EC refrigeration motor by any of these: EBM-PAPST, Ziehl Abegg, Elco, Weiguang, Wellington, etc
